Habanero BBQ Turkey

Ingredients

4 Butterball Easy Fresh turkey drumsticks2 Tbsp., canola oil¼ cup, finely minced white onion2 cloves garlic, finely minced1 1/2 cups, strained tomato sauce⅓ cup, brown sugar⅓ cup, apple cider vinegar2 Tbsp., Habanero (Scotch Bonnet) Hot SauceSalt and Pepper to taste

Salsa

2 cups pineapple, small cubes4 radishes, cut into matchsticks2 green onions, thinly sliced1 jalapeno, seeded and finely minced¼ cup, chopped corianderJuice of 2 limesSalt to taste

Directions

  1. Heat BBQ to medium heat 350°F.

  2. Score turkey drumsticks a few times with a knife all the way around.
  3. Rub with 1 tablespoon canola oil, and season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Place on grill and cook for 20-25 minutes, turning a few times until slightly charred on the outside and cooked through to the middle (Cook until meat thermometer reads internal temperature 165°F / 74°C).
  5. Brush cooked drumsticks with barbecue sauce on all sides, and grill for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Habanero BBQ Sauce, heat 1 tablespoon of canola oil in a small saucepan on medium heat.
  7. Add onions and garlic and cook for 3-4 minutes or until softened and translucent.
  8. Add strained tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, habanero sauce, and salt to taste.
  9. Cook on medium heat for 15 minutes stirring frequently until thickened and glossy.
  10. Salsa, combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine.
  11. Serve bbq drumsticks along refreshing salsa. Enjoy!
