Turkey Chili

Cook time 35 Minutes       Serves 4 People

Ingredients

1 Butterball Easy Fresh boneless turkey breast, cut into 1 inch cubes3 Tbsp. neutral oil like olive or vegetable oil1 small yellow onion, diced3 cloves garlic minced1 Tbsp. chili powder1 tsp dried oregano1 tsp cumin1 tsp smoked paprika1/2 tsp cinnamon2 chilies in adobo, chopped1 cup chicken broth1 28oz can diced tomatoes1 156 mL can tomato paste2 540mL cans cannellini beans, drained

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a heavy large skillet or pot. Add turkey and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from pot and set aside in a dish to catch the juices.

  2. Add another tablespoon of oil to the pot if needed, then brown onions and garlic on low heat.
  3. Add chili powder, oregano, cumin, paprika, and cinnamon, stirring to coat aromatics.
  4. Add turkey back to the pot, then add chilis in adobo, broth, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and cannellini beans.
  5. Simmer chili on medium heat until thick, and turkey is cooked through, around 20 -30 minutes.
  6. Serve with your favorite chili toppings.
