Begin by caramelizing your onions. In a hot skillet, add the olive oil and butter, followed by the diced onions. Season with a pinch of salt, then reduce heat to medium low. Cook slowly for 45 minutes, or until the onions are nicely caramelized. Set aside (can be done the day before). Make your secret sauce by combining the ketchup, relish, mayo, garlic powder, and salt - then set aside.
- Spread yellow mustard on one side of each Butterball turkey burger. Heat your greased grill or cast-iron pan over medium, then add the burgers mustard side down. Cook for 7 - 9 minutes, then flip. Top each burger with a slice of cheese, some caramelized onions, and some sliced pickled jalapenos. Cook for another 7 - 9 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165˚F/73˚C degrees.
- Toast each side of your Dempster's Signature Gold Bun, then spread on some of the signature sauce. Add, tomato, lettuce and finally the Butterball turkey burger that's been topped with the cheese, onions, and jalapenos. Enjoy!
