Gourmet Grilled Cheese

Ingredients

1 package Butterball Turkey Pepperoni1 package Butterball Turkey Franks2 loaves thick cut sourdough bread2 cups shredded sharp cheddar2 cups shredded Havarti2 cups shredded mozzarella½ cup onions, diced½ cup peppers, diced½ cup corn½ cup butter1 tsp parsley, chopped

Bechamel Sauce:

¼ cup butter¼cup flour2 cups milk1 pinch of Salt1 pinch of nutmegFreshly ground pepper to taste

Directions

    Turkey Franks:

  1. Broil Butterball Turkey Franks for 5-6 minutes (to a minimum 165°F/74°C).

  2. Cut lengthwise and set aside.

  3. Bechamel Sauce:

  4. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

  5. Mix in flour and stir constantly until forming a gritty paste (approximately 5 minutes).
  6. While stirring, add milk one cup at a time until fully incorporated and the sauce thickens and boils.
  7. Add salt, pepper and a pinch of nutmeg to taste.

  8. Assembly:

  9. Preheat oven to broil.

  10. Melt butter in a large frying pan over medium heat (or a panini press).
  11. Butter each side of bread and assemble sandwiches with desired condiments.
  12. Cook in frying pan on low to medium heat for 8 minutes before flipping to the other side and cooking it for 3 minutes.
  13. Cover sandwich with bechamel sauce, transfer to oven and broil until golden brown.
