Maple and Rosemary Turkey

Ingredients

1 Butterball turkey½ lb. tempered salted butter½ cup maple syrup1 Tbsp olive oil2 Tbsp whole-grain mustard¼ cup chopped fresh rosemary1 Tbsp garlic powder1 Tbsp onion powder½ tsp saltFreshly ground pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. After thawing place the turkey on a baking sheet fitted with a rack, then using your hands, gently lift the skin from the breast.

  2. In a bowl, combine butter, maple syrup, olive oil, mustard, rosemary, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper, then whisk until combined. Use ¾ of the butter to massage your turkey under the skin, then all around.
  3. Place the turkey in the oven and roast for 3 hours or until the turkey reaches 165°F/74°C in the breast and 180°F/82°C in the thigh (check the Butterball Turkey Calculator for expected cook time).
  4. Serve with a side dish of your choice, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, etc. Enjoy!
