Festive Turkey & Stuffing Croque Monsieur

Ingredients

2 lbs. Butterball Easy Fresh boneless skinless turkey breast, cooked (or leftover turkey)¾ cup Butterball Homestyle Stuffing8 Butterball Bacon Style Turkey slices, cooked8 large sourdough bread slices½ cup gruyere or extra old white cheddar

Bechamel Sauce

3 Tbsp. butter3 Tbsp. flour2 cup milk1 sprig rosemary½ cup gruyere or extra old white cheddar

Directions

  1. To make Bechamel sauce place a small pot on medium heat. Add butter and let melt. Sprinkle in flour stir together to create a roux. Let cook for 1-2 minutes until slightly darker in colour. Slowly pour in 1 cup of milk, stir quickly to incorporate into the roux.

  2. Stir to mix well, add rosemary sprig. Pour in remaining milk and grated cheese.
  3. Stirring frequently until cheese is melted.
  4. Bring to a simmer until sauce has thickened and coats the back of a spoon.
  5. Assemble by placing 4 slices of bread onto a parchment lined baking tray. Top each with 2 tablespoons of bechamel, 3-4 slices of turkey, 3 tbsp of stuffing, 2 slices of turkey bacon and top with other slice of bread
  6. Top each sandwich with 2 tablespoons of bechamel and 2 tablespoons of grated cheese. Broil on high until the cheese has melted Cut in half and serve hot.
