Detroit Style Turkey Coney Dog

Ingredients

 Select the items you need and print a shopping list.
1 package Butterball Turkey Franks1 package Ground TurkeyMustard½ Cup diced OnionsBrioche Hot Dog Bun1 tsp. chili powder1 tsp salt⅛ tsp. allspice1 tsp. ground mustard1 tsp. garlic powder½ tsp. ground cumin¼ tsp. ground cinnamon½ tsp. black pepper1 pinch cayenne½ cup Tomato Paste1 cup water

Directions

  1. Preheat BBQ to 400°F.

  2. In a medium-sized skillet, on medium-high heat, bring water, tomato paste and all the spices to a simmer.
  3. Once simmering, add ground turkey and break up while stirring. Stir every 3 minutes until fully cooked. Reduce heat to low and stir until thickened to desired consistency.
  4. Grill franks for 3 minutes on each side.
  5. Assemble buns with the sausage, cover in turkey Chili mixture, drizzle ballpark mustard, and sprinkle raw diced onion on top.
